I created a new scenery area and I get a compile error whenever the static
scenery is checked. It compiles fine without it checked. What causes this ?

thanks,

bob

Bob,

Can't really tell from the information above.

What error are you getting?

Tim Dickens

Well Tim, this is basically all I get.
"Compilation failed for "F:\my scenery" "examine compile_error.txt now ?"

and when I say yes, notepad opens and there is nothing to examine... it is
blank. Could it be that there is no static scenery and its trying to compile
nothing ? and speaking of said, are macros be considered static scenery ?

also is there a way I can have as a default, not having static scenery selected

when I go to compile my scenery ? or do I have to manually deselect it ?

thank you for your help,

Are you using Windows 2000? That version of Scasm will not write a .txt file
on the NT platform. If so, you can run Scasm separately and pick up the error
messages from the Scasm ap window.

ahhh, once again you've hit the nail on the head. While I'm not using
Win2000, I am using WindowsXP (RC2) which is based on the Win2000 kernal, I
also can not use the NO CD "fix" .. I get the error "not a valid 32bit
program", guess its the same thingy.

thanks a million,

regards,
bob
