Thanks for the essential piece of knowledge! The 8-bit land class works
partially in the CFS2. The main problem is the phenomenon of the water
surrounding of the area with the new scheme. It seems this occurs when there is
an intersection of the scope window for detailed textures and the new area.
First the cash is cleaned to zero in the entire scope window and then it is
filled with the new information only in the intersection. Please do you know
something more about this problem?

(PS: I am not able now to explore all 8-bit indexes in the CFS2. For the quick
testing there is enough just to use 12 for snow, 132 for rocks, 13 for forests
and 116 for fields, an example is at
