do a google/yahoo search for AirEd.
there is NOTHING simple about changing another's design or making your own.
you can seach both flightsim's and avsim's aircraft design forums for discussion.
you must understand a bunch of technical data about aircraft design (wings and engines) along with getting an understanding on how FS uses this information.
the information about how to build aircraft in FS is difficult decode. part of the challenge is FS isn't perfect in modeling the world and how altitude, temp., humidity, aircraft weight, CG, wing shape, slats, flaps, etc. interact. the second reason is the way FS uses the air file AND what the air file contains are inside a 'black box.' what information you find in the AirEd.ini file are a 'best guess' about what some very interested persons (current and past) have figured out by trial and error.
add to the mix ... some aircraft design information is in the aircraft.cfg file.
you cannot just change one item for a fix as that change is 'acted out' in many different ways through the flight envelope. and then there is the 'sticky ground' issue ...

also here on flightsim is Aired 1.52
aired152up.zip
Author: William M. Roth, Ronald Freimuth, Yahia al Wajid
Once you have Aired then go to the following web site and get the lastest aired.ini file which is updated as needed for FS9/FSX.
