Hi, I'm designing Naval vessels with FSD3 and want to make the helipads on them landable. Thanks to rickr I was lead to AFCAD 2.21 and I've figured out how to create a new airfield and how to create a helipad at the correct location either visible or invisible but the heights are either being ignored by FS9 or AFCAD i.e. when I specify a visible version and fly there the helipad is there by the altitude I specified for the airport and the Helipad hasn't worked so the pad sits at sea Level directly under the ship or rig landing platform. It is landable so I've made great strides but can anybody assist with what might be wrong here. I've followed the latest tutorial from Fltsim and I've followed it to the letter but this happens every time.

Would be most great for some assistance/wise words from sombody more experienced that I.

Thanks in advance.

Rgds

I have seen some work done on Helipads on oil rigs. The designer did not use a helipad as such but a very small runway. Is the altitude of your airport set to the correct point for your landable area? Also what altitude is the helipad itself set at?

Thanks for taking the time to respond to my plea, much appreciated. I followed up a link that Rickr sent me and have now cracked it with the use of XML files, which, as I'm sure you now allows you to create RWY's and Helipads etc. in one simple text file. So problem solved but many thanks for taking the time to respond.
