Windows resources

This is a stab in the dark question.....

When i first got into FS using FS98 i came across a utility i think was called "stop it"....

What it did was to shut down all those unwanted resources that we all seem to have open.

I have a library of odd bits on cd rom but sadly this one is missing..!!

Does anyone know of any utilities or programs that will shut down all the surplus Windows progs and just leave the basics running so that FS has all the spare resources available..

I must admit to prefering to stop and start the services I don't need manually.

Can hightly recommend Black Vipers site or the Elder Geeks site for great info. on how all the services work, what they do, what youneed and don't need etc.
