New question for any of you scenery-guru's out there...

what, exactly, do each of the "Exclude Layers" contain?

for example, I know that layer 4 = rivers, streams and utilities, 5 = railroads, and SBuilder lists 4,5,6,7, and 8 with descriptions. What are layers 1,2,3 and any others for, specifically?

(I'm trying to target some specific scenery elements, but I don't want to exclude myself from adding something else in the same spot).

Tanx!

Well I am not sure what 1,2,3 are used for but you can use up to 100 layers (I'm not sure what the practical limit is). A lot of add-on scenery uses the higher layers to ensure that the scenery lays over the default. Layers determine the order in which ground polygons appear.

There is a tutorial on my website which uses higher layer numbers to create an airport layout.

The higer addon layers can sometimes caue problems with exclusions when you think you are getting rid of something and it does not go. It may well be that you, or one of your users has addon scenery which is using layers that you have not excluded.

Don't knmow if that helps?
