View Full Version : Trouble with Trees!

In SGX I am having ENDLESS problems with the flipping trees sticking out all over my lovely runways!

I have tried EVERYTHING in the exclude area dialogue box to no avail. What the heck is going on. I remember it USED to work OK. But since I had to install a brand new had drive and reload the whole schbang it seems a bit glitchy.

My FSUIPC/FSCONNECT etc is all working great but I cannot get rid of those trees. I have even changed the landclass with EZ lanclass to make the land I am building on 'BARREN' but still those sticks poke through everything

HELP NEEDED URGENTLY PLEASE!!!

I might not be of much help, but Might try moving the slider for autogen all the way over to extreme (to the right). All utogen trees should show up. Then exclude what you need to do. They should be gone. Then I would suggest going to swcenery complexity slifer and move it to normal and the autogen back to normal. Add your objects. A lot of people run at normal due to frame rates. Ay objects you place will show up at normal or higher. The excludes at extreme will be gone for those who can run their maqchine higher than normal. I'm sure this did not answer the question. :) Bob

I have had the best luck at removing autogen objects by placing a VTP polygon to cover the area I want to clear using a program like Ground2k. Some may tell you to modify the scenery.cfg file and others say you need an exclude.bgl, but the VTP approach seems to work every time and allows me to change the actual texture for the area that is covered as well as making irregular shapes instead of just rectangles.

Can you try removing an autogen at some other scenery not anywhere connected with yours? If it doesn't work then something might be messeed up with your latest install. or, maybe reinstall the program you use to remove autogens.

Once I reinstalled FS9 and installed too many of my sceneries and libraries at once. My EZ scenery program got confused and wouldn't work. I had to do a restore point on my computer and that corrected it. Might try that. Who knows! :)Bob

In FS9 using the excludeAllObjects=TRUE should work, though for expanding or moving airports I also recommend going the terrain airport skirting polygon route.

I have finally succeeded here by using EZ landclass and making my airport scenery 'barren no autogen' or 'FS9 GRASSLAND' works a treat and the airfields look nice and authentic with neatly cropped grass!

Thanks guys.
