How do I get the cargo bay doors open on the planes? I think it says to hit shift and e, e, but nothing happens.

Actually, I cannot get the fricking plane to turn in pushback either, using the commands I have seen people mention in discussions here.

Is it all about finger technique, software conflict, or am I just experiencing gremlins?

Well, Chums, thanks in advance.

The main exit (however defined for the aircraft) is SHIFT E. Other "exits" would be SHIFT, then 2; SHIFT E then 3, etc.

After pushing SHIFT P for pushback, the 1 and 2 keys will start the turn, BUT... it may take a little while before the turn actually starts. There's a certain amount of time (or maybe distance) after the command before the turn actually starts.

There's an article somewhere, I thought it was here but couldn't find it, which explains the delay in the turn start after you push the 1 and 2 key. It's something like the turn starts when the nosewheel reaches the spot where the main wheels were when you pushed the button ( I think ). Hopefully someone else has a better memory.

Yeah I know what you mean. With the 737 I just use the reveres thrusters and the rudder to turn when pushing back.

That last suggestion is a bit extreme. I am not sure why the functions you all mentioned do not work for me.

When I press the 2 key after the Shift E, I get the radio setup. I will try to see if something is cockeyed with my control set up.

Thanks, Chums, for everything.

The doors issue is just technique.

It's shift + E (i.e. pressed together), release, then quickly followed by 1,2 or 3 etc.

If you get the radio stack, that will have been because FS recognised you pressing shift followed by 2.

Once you get the technique right, it will work every time and you'll wonder why there was a problem!

One other thing, many add-on aircraft also use other commands for things like baggage and cargo doors, for example wingfold and water rudder and these are not configured by default, so you have to choose your own key commands.

So far I have only tried the stock planes. I tried your technique. only the shift E 2 works. Is that setting only for the two lower cargo hatches? What are 1 and 3 for?

SHIFT E 1, by itself, would be the same as just SHIFT E, the main "exit," while 2, 3, 4, etc would be for any additional "exits" defined in the aircraft.cfg file (and implemented in the model). If 3 and above do nothing, chances are they're not defined.

BTW, thanks for all the help. It is good to see the lower hatches open and the loading vehicles drive up.
