FSX SP1

I have uninstalled FSX from the Control Panel and all associated addon planes, downloaded the SP1 and the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86) and deleted all the folders on my "C" drive for FSX. I reinstalled FSX, installed SP1 and the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86). When I load FSX I can use the default planes but after I installed one of the addon planes and select it I get that situation where the plane keeps trying to load, the sound goes off and on and finally it crashes to desktop. So it appears I can on use the default planes with the SP1. Any ideas why?

Try the latest dx9 if on XP

Thanks for the suggestion. I downloaded the latest dx9as which I thought I already had on my computer, not sure. At any rate I did this and replaced the fsx.cfg and the .dll in the Document, etc folder and so far I have not had any problems, keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks again.
