Hi Folks,

I need a little help here. When you want to create a new view for an aircraft, should the GUID be unique on your machine or only in the aircraft.cfg ?

Could someone explain me what GUID is really?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

GUID is a "Globally Unique ID" for various pieces of FSX. You can download GUIDGEN.EXE from Microsoft at: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=94551F58-484F-4A8C-BB39-ADB270833AFC&displaylang=en

It will generate a unique ID for you, and is the method recommended by MS.

Hi Larry,

Thanks for your explanation but I need some more..

Do I need to create a GUID for each plane view or it has only to be unique inside a specific aircraft.cfg ?

Or the GUID needs to be unique on my machine ?

I already copied cameraDefinition from another plane with same GUID into another aircraft .cfg and it seems to work but before releasing it to public I want to be sure I release something ok for everybody.

Thank you again for your kind answer.

You'll need a new GUID for each camera view, or for anything else that requires one. It only takes a moment to run the program, then do a copy/paste of the new GUID.
