Has anyone encountered a problem getting rudder pedals to work in FSX? My CH pedals have worked fine with FS98, 2000,2002,2004 but not with FSX. The calibration routine seems to recognize them and they calibrate OK but when I execute the program, the rudder is dead (unless I activate autorudder which is not very realistic).
I opened an incident report with Microsoft support and after several back and forth explanations, the MS guy basically told me that MS had put a lot of resources in the graphics and other stuff and that not all functions of prior versions followed. He was "very sorry that I wouldn't be able to use the program".
I can't believe that he's right (I think the FS support desk is in India, far away from MS)! If they've dropped pedal support, this board would be full of notices, complaints, etc.
Does anyone have any clue as to what may be wrong? I'm using EPIC interfacing to the CH Pro pedals which has been working for the last nine years. I can load FS9 and the pedals work AOK; then, without changing any hardware, operating system, etc, load FSX and pedals are dead. I can't believe Bill Gates would do this!!!!

Bill Gates would do a lot of things! LOL!

Anyway, if the pedals are recognized by the operating system then FSX should work "AOK". I have connected a lot of different input HW - including CH pedals, CH yoke, CH Joystick and Logitech Game pad and everything works and calibrates perfectly!

Connect the CH pedals directly to the PC and try again. If this works, then the EPIC card compatibility with FSX should be looked into.

Have you checked the sensitivity settings on your pedals? Sometimes FS will set that to zero when assigning an axis, and this results in them not affecting the sim.

Correct Larry! That happened to me too, when trying to assign axes to a function which was not originally planned for (reverse the Left and Right mini-joysticks on Logitech WingMan RumblePad for example).

I had the same problem and eventually worked out that the pedals had no axis assigned to them in FSX. Go to the Axis tab on the test/calibrate dialogue in Game Controllers.

You should probably check the control list to see if your pedals are checked in the rudder box. Simple to check if not. My ch pedals work perfect.

Ha, I have the OLD Thrustmaster pedals hooked up to a 6 dollar serrial/usb adapter and they work fine for the most part. I do have to push them before moving or I gets ome funky movement on the plane but after that they work fine. I did calibrate them though. I use them with a Saitek X45.
