FSX emergency

Hi.

I've been reading through all the suggestions and wishes from all you guys. Very nice reading but I haven't seen any suggestions/wishes about a possibility to declare an emergency situation during flight.
My wish is to be able to have the possibility to declare an emergency situation and have the ATC to guide me to the nearest airport and/or to choose the airport myself and have the ATC clearing the airspace and airport for an emergency landing.
Also it would be nice if the ATC could scramble a SAR in a situation like that.

Anyone else thinking the same? :)

Here's the problem with a "7700":

Each situation will differ, AND guess what, once you declare an emergency, you, as PIC, can basically call the shots as to what you do. Yes, you may have to answer for it later, but, how is MS supposed to program that (figure out all the potential things you may request), especially considering how liitle they charge for the program?

Frankly, I think you are asking A bit too much.

What about making that an option on the ATC menu. Instead of requesting landing clearance, you could say Declare Emergency. Then the tower would give you clearance to land on any runway, and would tell other traffic to go around/hold short until you were down.

Obviously we can't expect the program to take each situation into account, this would allow you to declare the emergency and get down without having to worry about other traffic, or which runway to line up with, etc.

Good point :)

A recognition of the 7700 followed by a clearance through the airspace around a airport would add some degree of reality in an emergency situation.

I agree. FSX needs to recognise 7700's and/or Mayday's. Flight Unlimited II lets you do it so why not fsx?
