I'll probably never hear anything on this, as there aren't that many of us around that enjoy this.

Does anyone know if MS has given any thought or indication to support the only 2 flight models that FS does not currently support:

True VTOL Aircraft (Tilt Rotor) and LTA (Lighter than Air, or Airships)

Flight sim does a pretty good job at modeling fixed wing aircraft and helicopters. As far as I understand it, FSX is supposed to bring in more light aircraft support (ultralights, gliders). VTOL and LTA are the only other flight models not supported. X-Plane, which is not nearly as good as FS in many ways, has supported both of these models for years. Will Microsoft finally catch up in this department with FSX?

I have not tried X-Plane for quite some time. I just went to look at their page, and I must say it looks as good or better than FSX. And it's available now.

The VTOL thing has been brought up in several threads on this forum as well as on AVsim. I haven't seen any responses from the MSFS guys yet, so i guess you shouldn't get your hopes up too high. I think they consider it to be too much of a specialist thing which takes too much time to incorporate.

Seems that if you want to enjoy these types of planes, it's back to X-plane again ;)

No, you won't get an answer until the kind folks at ACES are prepared to release more information.

Suffice it to say that there are folks who do know the answer to your question, but are prohibited from even disclosing the fact that they know about such things, much less reveal any specifics... ;)

With that said, if I were a betting man, I'd lay good money on your being both surprised and satisfied.

Well, I guess it's now "wait and see" time. Sure would be nice to have these in the game.

I did go ahead and submit it to tell_fs. I'm sure that probably means nothing, as I can imagine the number of emails they probably get.

I'm gonna start upgrading my computer now so maybe I'll be able to run FSX well when it comes out. I'm so used to having FS9 run so smoothly, I don't think I could handel going back to cut down graphics and choppy frame rates.
