Would it be difficult to implement autoland into FSX?
I think beginners would enjoy this feature, as it helps them locate the airport and they can watch and learn what does what during the landing phase of flight.
This might have been covered already, but anyway...
Great job Steve, Mike, and ACES and the Team, FSX looks stunning so far!!!

I don't know. Isn't learning to land the plane a big part of the fun of the program? Peaople can start with the simple aircraft that are very forgiving and work their way up.

While I agree with you, a lot of "noobs" enjoy the autoland, at least when I was a nubber with FS5/FS98 I liked the "x" autoland (default key was x I think lol). Perhaps there could be an option, to Continue this Portion Yourself - IDK lol!! So maybe those folks who get lost could get back to the airport and then try a straight-in approach.

I know there is now a 3rd party autopilot gauge which will run the whole aircraft for you from start to finish if you want. The ability to do it is available as an add on, as to whether it could/should be part of the default program, well I can't answer that :)

Speaking of that, I remember the plane would shudder and rattle, and there was an increase in wind noise if the virtual pilot really pulled the plug to descend quickly. The audio was good. I also liked the rattling when on rough ground, and the sound of rain. I don't remember if FS9 has all that or not.
A mind is a terrible thing to lose.
