I would like fs10 to support multiplayer without having to turn off the internet router firewall and set up port forwarding. We should not have to lower our security ptotection when using FS multiplayer!

Other multiplayer programs like world of Warcraft do not require the users to lower their frewall and router shields

Also, FS 10 should 'remember' our dual monitor settings the next time we restart FS so we do not have to reactivitae the additional views and move them the second monitor

I have to use port forwarding to play WoW, or any other game online. Not that big a deal, really.

Interesting, we play W of W without port forwarding??
That's my assumption.

Did W of W set up port forwarding itself without my doing anything?
I hope not ! ! ! !

You don't have to turn off your router firewall for FS -- port forwarding is there specifically to allow the firewall (or NAT or whatever) to remain on and send the specified ports ONLY to the specified IP address. If you have a firewall in your machine AND the NAT in the router, then you have two things to configure, but it's not difficult.

And that's certainly not anything that FS could do anything about, unless they built in a function that, given your ID, password, etc. for that firewall, would automatically configure your router (cure is worse than the disease) -- you'd also have to tell it how many firewall/NATs to go through, with ID, etc. for each. But that would be a problem too, since different routers (and different firewalls), even within the same brand, have different command sets and different functions, and some don't even have port forwarding -- a friend of mine has to either set the DMZ on his router to his machine or use another work around.
