Gauges from freeware

Hi Everyone.

Forgive me if I've used the wrong forum for this but perhaps you could answer this question or direct me. Why when I download freeware aircraft, that frequently the gauges don't show up? Whereas on others, they do? What is the step I am missing? I am computer literate but that's about it. Many thanks if you can answer this. Diz

It could be many different things. First, which version of FS are you using?

1. The gauges might not be installed in the \gauges folder or the a/c's \panel folder.

2. If you are using FSX, FS98 gauges are not supported and will simply not show up at all.

3. Installation error of the add-on aircraft.

Sorry to have neglected that. I'm using FSX and downloading ONLY aircraft freeware designed for FSX. Bill, could you elaborate on your statement number 2? I'm pretty sure that's the answer. Diz
