Course selection no longer functions no matter how many times I re-install.

I run XP Professional, FS2002, on a amd XP3000 and 1.5 ddr ram
also I cannot unistall the first and second version from the control panel of XP via add and remove programs still shows up as installed.
I have never had this problem before.
The final update for 20002 uninstalls fine.
all patches have been installed in the correct order.this is just a recent occurrence can you help

Which version of FSUIPC are you using? I'd suggest making sure that you're actually using the one that's installed with the product. If you're using a much later version, it may be incompatible. Also, I believe simply reinstalling the 737 won't overwrite a newer version of FSUIPC and the INI file. You'll need to back up those two files outside of FS, then delete them from the Modules folder. After they're gone, reinstall the 737 so that you ensure the proper version is installed.

First a bit of explanation:
I have tried the search engine for "knob" because I remembered reading long ago that people had problems with this knob. I have used "knob" using advanced in DF 737 forum and I got only one post - mine. Since there are no other posts in this forum I have assumed that all post have been deleted so I didn't search further. Happily I was wrong :)

I will try the solution you suggested. The only things I have installed previous to DF737 were some sceneries and Ultimate traffic. I think Ultimate Traffic could have installed a FSUIPC .
