I have had this happen before and cannot remember how to correct it. The altitude selector in the autopilot will only increase or decrease in one thousand feet degrees. I can't select 1200 feet; only 1000 or 2000 feet.
What am I not remembering to do?
Many thanks.

if you're using trackir you need to disable it when adjusting instruments

Thank you for the answer. What is trakir? I've looked through the OM and cannot find a reference.

If you don't know what TrackIR is, you likely don't have it installed :D It's not part of the A36 installation - it's an addon for VC use.
As for the control acelleration, usually a reboot will fix it. If it is a continued problem on your system, you can use the "Fix Control Acelleration" option in the registered version of FSUIPC to fix it for good.
BTW - this is an issue related to FS, not the A36 in particular ;-)

Thank you. I just tested it and now the altitude control works as it should in 100 feet increments. I have no idea what I did to correct it.

Glad to hear it's working for you now :)
