I know what the support says, I'm just asking because I have no intention on going to WinXP with all the reported problems here and there. I know, not like Win2000 doesn't, but I'm happy with it.
Anyway, thanks,
Dan

It appears to work, but we do not support it, Dan. Ultimately, you have a 30 day money back guarantee. ;-)

As to WinXP, I completely disagree with "all the reported problems here and there". I suspect the majority of these problems are due to flawed upgrades from a former OS. When done properly there is nothing to fear, and WinXP is the way to go.

I have never had a problem with WinXp- Love it! :-)

Thanks for the response Lou. I have several other Dreamfleet a/c and would love to have this one. As for XP, I've heard of problems with joysticks and the SP2 problems. If I decide to go with XP it will, as with all the other opsys I've installed be fresh on formatted drive. I may verywell do this.
Anyway, thanks for the response.

Gotta agree with Lou. XP is a refined version of the W2K code base, and it was specifically designed with home users in mind, whereas W2K wasn't. I have been using WinXP since October 2001, and I have never had a single problem through RTM, SP1, and SP2 versions that wasn't of my own doing configurationally or the doing of the 3rd party developer (who fixed the problem later).

There seems to be some unfounded paranoia about WXP SP2 in the same way that some FS2004 users are still debating whether or not to install the 9.1 update that was released 10 months ago.

I have the A36 installed on win2000pro. All works fine as long as you first load or create a flight with a default plane, and then change to the a36 (as mentioned in the manual).

When the A36 loads, I get a warning in a window, about the avionics bus (that will be disabled for reason of insufficient resources...), but when I click on the ok-button, everything loads & works fine, including the gns, sandell & weather radar.

The RealityXP upgrade does not work on my system, so I uninstalled it.

winXP probably is better than win2000, but I'm afraid that all the XP-eye-candy will slow down my system...

Btw, the a36 is a fantastic aircraft, thank you Dreamfleet!

Filip

Guys, thanks for all the reponses. I took the dive and bought WinXP Pro. BB had a sale on Pro and it was the same price as Home so I bought the Pro. Pro should be fine right ?
Thanks,
Dan

You bet. I have Pro on both my machines, Dan.

Good luck with the install. Take your time... :-)
