I have just done a complete reinstall of FS9 on a new computer. As I have installed addon aircraft and/or scenery I have run FS9 and tested each install. Everything works fine until I install the Dreamfleet A36.

Purchased May 11, order 248219.

Am installing the file "dfa36release1.1.exe" It installs, then proceeds to the RealityXPinstall and trainer install. I have installed the trainer to C:\GNS 430. Text-o-matic installs.

When I run FS9 and select the A36 to fly now at the default KSEA, the aircraft is sitting on the runway in a cold and dark state, no gauges (except AI). A large red X and "inop" appear in the EHSI location. When escaping out, I get a black screen and MS message that MSFS has an error and must be restarted. This only occurs with the A36.

I have uninstalled the program once and reinstalled with identical results. I have not yet attempted to install the float version.

Am running WinXPProSP2 w/all updates, AMD 4000+, 1GB RAM, nVidia 6800Ultra 256 video, 2 Maxtor 120GB in Raid0 (striping).

Assistance please.

When you re-install, does it ask for your "key" and 4 digit code?

The only way to install the A36 is to use the original download file which uses the Flight 1 wrapper, and this file is named: dfa36_1.1.exe

Not: dfa36release1.1.exe

If you are running an .exe file that was extracted to a folder during a previous install, this will not work. Only the original download file, utilizing the Flight 1 "Wrapper" will work, and this file appears with a red airplane icon on it.

Every install will require use of your key and 4 digit code.

Or, to make things simple, uninstall the A36, then download this file and run it. When it asks for your key and 4 digit code, provide it, and all should be well. Be sure you are connected to the internet while doing the install.

Any problems, report back, and we'll get it sorted out.

Thanks, Lou... I knew it had to be my fault, and it was. I was using the wrong file as you noted.

Installed and all is fine. Once around the patch at KSEA... it's a beautiful bird, very much like my old V35 and truly does fly like a dream.

Now, I've downloaded the float version. Do I just execute that file? I'll wait to do so until getting the OK.

Many, many thanks for the prompt and complete response. I appreciate it very much.

Yes, that file can simply be run as-is. It will install the float version and the small service update.

Thanks very much. Have finished the install and both work well.

Think I"ll go and purchase the 727 package. The reviews make it sound great!
