First, I was wondering if there is a way to turn off the 2D sideviews and rear view like there is in the Archer.

Secondly, I like to save my flight as "Last" each time I shut down so that I can continue from the exact same spot with everything just the way I left it. I also have a shortcut to that flight on my desktop so I don't usually bother starting up FS, I just jump straight into that flight. The problem is, the GPS and WX radar don't seem to work unless I use the Create a Flight screen to start the flight. Even then it usually complains that I'm starting from a view other than the 2D panel (my default is to start outside the plane in spot view) Is there someway around this problem?

1st question: No, there is no way to remove the 2D views like with the Archer. The only way would be to use the VC exclusively. (I actually shouldn't say there's NO way to do it. You can make in-dept mods to the panel config, but since it's not supported, it's not something I'm going to go into. Hope you understand :)

2nd question: I have saved flights after landing and shutting down as well, but with no issue when reloading. My technique is to always save in 2D mode (not spot view, VC mode, etc) and I always turn off the GPS and Radar before turning off the aircraft. Once the flight is reloaded, I start up as normal and turn on the GPS. It has never once not initialized and updated my position. Try that technique. Oh, and you'll get that message popup you described if you reload the flight after saving it in spot view. There's nothing wrong with that, it's just that you should do as the message say's and go to the 2D panel once before switching view modes again, to ensure that the panel initializes properly.

Hi there,

Indeed, if that message pops-up, do what it requests you to do.
In order for our gauges to intialize properly, you need to switch to 2D view at least once.

Ok, thanks. I'll play around with it a bit more. It just hasn't really been an issue since I hardly ever use even the default GPS. I'm a luddite I guess, prefer to do things the hard way.
