Hello everyone,
I've purchased the A36. It's a brillant aircraft. I love to hand fly it. Bravo to the team and thx.
Now, my question. I would like to know what is the proper use for the green, orange and yellow bugs on the altimeter.
What are these bugs for ? MDH ? what else ?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Whatever you would like to use them for, DH, MDA, cruise ALT, field elevation, etc. They are each individually adjustable.

Eric-
The add in Sporty's catalog shows the bugs are set this way:
Orange bug= minimums for the appraoch being used (DH on precision
approaches, MDA on non-precision approaches).
Green= 500' above minimums.
Yellow= wide end is 200' above minimums, decreasing to pointy end 100' above minimums, although the DF version has the wide end at bottom equaling 100' above.
On visuals, I usually set the green at 500' above field elevation and the orange at field elevation, with the yellow set at pattern altitude.
Of course, you can use them any way you like, as Lou said.

The Sporty one, which is what ours i based on actually has the 3 bugs connected together, so they move as one :) We opted to have them move seperate so you can have more uses for them.

I goofed in my last post regarding this. The Sporty's yellow bug is POINTY end 200' above, wide end 100' above. This is how it is configured in the DF A36. In all the other DF aircraft, it is configured WIDE end 200' above, pointy end 100' above.
I noticed this while looking at my latest Sporty's ctalog tonight. Not that it matters how you use it, I just like to be ACCURATE in my posts, so mea culpa.
