View Full Version : A36-garmin
Why do I have a map of Charlotte.... when sitting at KSEA.
I looked through the manual but must have missed it. It seemed
to create it's database during installation if my memory serves
me correctly. Not sure what to do.
Any help would be much appreciated

Have you tried turning the GNS430 off then on again ? This should cause it to reinitialise, and it should then "find itself" correctly. When it does this, watch to see if it is using the American or International database.
Its database comes from the Garmin Trainer.
Could you post details about your system, in particular your OS (WinXP, Service Packs applied, etc.), what graphics card you use, and whether you already have any RealityXP products installed (V.2 or v2005 ?)
Thank you for responding.
1. On Off - no change
2. Using Americas DB
3. Yes - I currently have installed, rxp version 2 stuff.
(jl4 & wx500)
4. XP Pro sp2
5. x800 card
Hope you can help

At this stage I would recommend a complete re-install of the Bonanza. If the Garmin GNS430 Trainer is working OK I'd suggest leaving this alone (just opt not to reinstall it.)
If this doesn't fix the problem, reinstall again but this time reinstall the Trainer, using a "simple" location, such as C:\Garmin.
There have been some teething problems with the Bonanza-specific GNS430, so you might just be one of those unlucky few who are experiencing problems.

As indicated in our forum (link from Reality XP web site main page), you can't mix v2.x and v5.0 products.
Please follow the directions given from www.reality-xp.com in order to upgrade all your products to v5.0!
