Hey just out of curiosity i was reading the manual how you said the plane is equipped with BOTH setting to aviod heavy wing which i think is cool becasue FS went crazy on it. But does teh real A36 have a BOTH setting becasue my friend owns one at teh airport i fly out of says there is only LEEFT an RIGHT

No, there is no BOTH setting on the real aircraft. The BOTH setting was added to the A36 and the Archer, C177, 310 too for the exact reason the manual states.

correct. the real one has only left/right. it was done because FS exaggerates way too much the difference in fuel.

I stated in the manual that the real A36 does NOT have a BOTH position, and we added it for the reason that I stated. We did the same with our Archer, and for the same reason. ;-)

NOTE: In order to keep this gauge in accordance with FS standards and to avoid issues with a “heavy wing” caused by Flight Simulator’s exaggeration of weight and balance affects, the fuel selector is provided with a “BOTH” position that does not appear on the real A36.
It is suggested that you keep the Fuel Tank Selector in the BOTH position. Failure to do this could cause an unrealistically heavy wing unless you switch tanks very frequently.

Could you have "virtually" moved the tanks closer together in the aircraft.cfg file to compensate for FS's overexageration of lateral CG?

That would cause other issues, and besides if one does not want to use the both position, they can just use the L/R positions and switch tanks often.
In the end, it is really a non-issue.;-)

From my experiences in the Bonanza A36, we usually switch tanks about half way enroute. I fly often from southern CT to VT which takes anywhere from 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours. The tanks don't run down too too quickly. I usually fly with full tanks and the performance is still exceptional.
