OK,
First off, amazing product. I absolutely love it, however I am having two problems. One is more of an annoyance, the other is major. I will start with the minor one first.
1. I am unable to fly multiple hops. I start the engines once, get my "Clear" and fly to destination A. I shut down, relax, but do not shut down FS because I like to sit and look at the plane in between flights :). When I get back in (virtually with Active Camera) and try to start the engines a second time, I can not turn the key to both in order to restart. I can take the key out and put it back, but not restart. I end up having to restart FS anyway. Anyone else seen this?

2. This one is major. I am getting sustained 100% cpu usage sometimes during flight and sometimes when trying to shutdown FS when using the new 36. When I do a ctrl-alt-del my cpu is pinned at 100% but no applications are running and there are no abnormal processes running. Before anyone even says it, this is not spyware!!! When I try to shut down the cpu I get a system message reagrding WOWEXEC. This is a windows on windows execution error that I have never seen before, nor have I ever seen my cpu at 100% before my first flight last night. I try to do an end task and I get the following error: The system can not end the selected task because GNC400WT is not allowing it to run ok/cancel. I select OK and the get: The request to end the selected 16-bit task has timed out and the win 16 subsytem may be unstable ok/cancel. I click ok and sometimes the cpu will shut down and reboot, other times I have to do a hard reboot. Yes, I am running XP. Anyone have any suggestions, I went to Reality XP forums but only saw one or two posts and I had all the required files mentioned in their forum. This is crippling my machine everytime...
It does appear to be related to the trainer that is getting installed but as the products are sold together, I do not know if support is provided individually.
Any Help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
-Paul

Hi Paul,

I will let Jean-Luc chime in regarding the second issue :)

The first issue; well, the only reason I can think off why you are unable to start the engine is because either the aircraft is tied down or the pilot is not in the plane :) Check the Configuration Control's preflight page. Make sure you do not have tiedowns active, and the pilot is in the plane. Then you can start your engines without a problem.

Best regards, Elmar

Hi Elmar,
Thank you very much for the quick reply, I too will wait for Jean-Luc to chime in on # 2. As for # 1, as soon as I got done posting the message I started thinking to myself that I bet it is some sort of user error. Unfortunately, i came to the same conclusion that I was trying to re-start without a pilot :) He must have jumped out for a bud light. http://www.big-boys.com/articles/superbowl1.html
Thanks again, I look forward to Jean-Luc's reply,
-Paul

The bloody #¤#"%"#%#"¤""#!!!!! I spent 5 minutes today trying to find out why I cannot turn the key and I didn't even think of the possibility that I maybe forgot pilot outside... I simply reloaded the plane :D:D

Welcome to the Forum George. Glad I am not the only one trying to start the plane without a pilot... I find most of my problems are self inflicted.
Hopefully # 2 will be that easy...

Hi Paul,

We are trying to find a solution about this on your system. Rest assured we are working on it and will get back to you soon.

In the meantime, is this ALWAYS happening, anytime you run the A36? is there any particular sequence of action that always lead to the same result?

Well could just be the RAM dump problem. During FS9 use with nice payware planes my system does the same too. I really cant do more gaming after playing FS, I just reboot...kinda clearing the junk out of my system.

Thanks Ryan,
I do the same thing everytime I complete a flight :) Shut the whole system down, let it rest for a minute or two and the reboot and fly again... It is like letting the brakes cool :) Unfortunately, I am getting a very specific error about the Windows 16 bit subsystem though. I would like to get to the bottom of that error and the system being crippled when it happens. Such an amazing plane and such great work, I almost feel bad bringing up a problem :(
Thanks for the reply,
-Paul

Hello both Ryan and Paul,

I used to have this same problem and would have to restart my computer if I wanted to run the sim again. Then I installed Ken Salter's FS Autostart, end of problem. After you have it configured it will shut down any and all unwanted programs, and defrag your memory, then start up FS. You can even set it to auto restart all the programs you shut down upon closing the sim. It has made a big difference in stutters, increase in frame rate and ended the need to do a full reboot just to fly again. My hat's off to Ken for such a useful program.

Thanks Zane,
I agree 100%, I have been using it for quite some time. One of the best programs going. I actually use it for a number of applications, not just FS. I will not reboot after a 45 minute flight, and I do numerous round trips in the PMDG NG's, but if I do a transatlantic and the cpu is cranking for 6 hours or more straight, I will give her a rest :)
Thanks again though, I agree 100% about FSAutostart.

Hi Jean-Luc,
Thank you very much for the reply. Unfortunately, it does not happen everytime. If it did, it would probably be much easier to diagnose. I have not yet found a specific sequence that triggers it. I will continue to look. In the interim, if there is anything at all that I can do to assist, please let me know. I am more than willing to work with you on this, even set you up with remote access to my box if you would like. (hey we all have Remote desktop in XP) Please let me know if there are any files I can provide you and in the interim, I will continue to look for a specific sequence that triggers it. Rest assured, I am not dterred, the integration work you have done with Dreamfleet is absolutely spectacular.
Thanks again,
-Paul

By the way, I am leaving the house in about an hour and will not be back until ~ 5pm est. this afternoon. I just did not want you to think I was posting and then dissapearing like I have seen some others do :)
I also run a very lean system, so it occured to me that possibly I have a required service disabled. I am including two screenshots of my running services..
