Beech And Winn2000pro??

The Beech won't work in Win2000pro?? I have other products that say XPonly and work. Should I see and get a refund if not?

Hi there,

The aircraft was designed on WindowsXP platforms and we did not test it on Windows 2000, nor will we support it.

The A36 installer will run on Windows 2000 and should install the aircraft and Text-o-Matic properly but the included RealityXP v2005 GNS430 and weatherradar will definitly not install or work since they rely on functions that are only available in WindowsXP and are not, and cannot be made, available in Windows2000.

We had some betatesters running the aircraft on Windows2000 and they reported the aircraft worked just fine. But as said above, the RealityXP GNS430 and weatherradar will not install, nor work.

Yeah, WindowsXP can upgrade an existing Windows2000 installation, but I wouldn't recommend that. Fresh installs are the way to go :)

Yeah, I would suggest a complete format and install the full version of XP. It's really hit or miss when doing the upgrade version. It's best to start from scratch. I know it's a pain, but a good day's work and a few beers while your doing it, won't be too bad.

Now when you say the GPS and radar won't work, do you mean at all? I'm running the A36 under Win2K Pro and other than warnings upon loading, the GPS and radar seem to be functional.

Well, I dont know how you got it to install since the RealityXP installer will check the OS version and abort upon finding anything but WindowsXP :)

Yes, if you should get them installed, they will run. Proper or not, I honestly do not know but chances are very much against it. Like said, it's stricly for WindowsXP.

Here is what we have published on our forums about our new v2005 releases. Most apply to the 430XP and Wx500 included in the A36

the installer can now run on your operating system. Certain limitations apply:

*the products are only sold and supported for Windows XP.
*installing on Windows 2000 is limited to existing v2.x customers, for convenience only.
*Reality XP is not offering support for its v2005 products on Windows 2000.
*Only the installers can run with Windows 2000.
*The new GNS v2005 is not designed to run on Wndows 2000.
*Do not purchase a v2005 product if you run any other operating system than Windows XP.

Right, I understand. I was just surprised to see these components install and function under Win2K. :)

Love the A36. I've been waiting a long time for this one and I'm not dissapointed. DF has outdone themselves again :D
