View Full Version : Archer doing backflips on pushback

Hi all,

Here's a strange one. I've had this problem for awhile and have yet to figure it out. When doing pushback with the DF Archer, the aircraft does a backflip and crashes upon hitting shift-p the second time to stop the pushback (and yes, the parking brake is off). I've tried shutting off ignition, had throttle and mixtures set to minimum with no luck. I end up slewing the aircraft backwards to simulate pushback at present.

I'm thinking it might have to do with my CH Yoke and/or pedals, but all calibrations in and out of FS and FSUIPC seem normal. Any ideas?

Cheers,
Mike T.

P.S. This only happens with the Archer, not with any other DF aircraft I own.

Mike,

Pushback is one of those things that are never done with an Archer in real life. You have to get out and fit the tow bar and push it back by hand.

I think it's a small price to pay if pushback in FS doesn't work with the Archer since everything else is so excellent.

Best regards,

While I don't use pushback on these little guys, I thought I'd give it a try. Mine will pushback just fine. Just a gentle rocking when stopping pushback. Not sure what your problem could be, but it's definitely not the aircraft itself. Something else is going with your setup somewhere.

One thing comes in to my mind. Are you doing that pushback with huge weight load? If there is a lot of weight on the back of the plane, it might get close to the limit?

Mikko,

You've hit the nail on the head. I had a 4-passenger setup, with each passenger at 170 pounds each and had 26 pounds of luggage. Changing the weights of passengers 3 and 4 to zero (they went on one heck of a diet!!LOL) took care of the problem. Archer's now pushing back normally again, thanks!

Cheers,
