I'm trying to reinstall my Archer on my new computer. It aborts because it can't find the FS2002 folder. That folder no longer exists since I don't have FS2002 on my computer any more. Is there an upgrade of some sort that will enable me to use my Archer in FS9?
Thanks, and Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Just download the latest version of the Archer, Dewey, from Flight 1, and use your key to "reinstall" it. The newest version allows you to install either the FS2002 or FS2004 version. Of course, you would choose the FS2004 version, and that will do the trick. :-)

Thank you sir. I would have known that had I been able to read the accompanying pfd file. For some reason my Acrobat reader wouldn't open it. So I downloaded/installed the latest Acrobat version, followed the instructions in your pfd file, and the Archer is now installed and working in FS9. Nice to have it back.
Happy holidays to you and yours.

Thanks for that, Lou. I appreciate the extra effort you folks at Dreamflight/Flight1 went through to make the new installer available.
I didn't post the original question, but I recently purchased FS2004, so this will make it easier to get my Archer back in the sky!

Thanks, guys, and always be sure to have the latest version of Adobe Acrobat reader installed when it comes to manuals, since we do not know which version you may currently have installed. I use Acrobat 5.0 to create manuals.
Did you know? Acrobat works with MS Word. You do the manual document in Word, then click an Acrobat icon that gets installed in Word to do the conversion to PDF. In reality, a PDF file is like an image file, and you can actually open one up in Photoshop, where it can be modified. You can also modify some things in Acrobat itself, though it is easier to do it in Word, then convert. Of course, if you just have the free Acrobat reader, all you can do is read it!
All this for the $225 I paid for Adobe Acrobat 5.0. Not planning to upgrade to a newer version anytime soon!
Happy New Year,

Great tip about Word, Lou. Thanks. I use Word a lot and sometimes have occasion to make a pfd file. I didn't know Word would do that. I guess that's another case of needing to "read the manual", isn't it?

No, no, Word can only do that IF you have purchased and installed Adobe Acrobat (not the reader, but the full version). I was just describing how it works once you install Acrobat. It places an icon on the menu in Word. Then, when you are done with the Word doc, you click on the icon to convert the doc into PDF. ;-)

There's an open-source program out there that works like microsoft office and can convert to PDF files. The name of the program is OpenOffice and can be found at OpenOffice.org.

SORRY TO BOTHER W THIS AGAIN
got my key recognized by your system and like the 1st msg in this thread the install program proposes to close because cannot find a proper path for fs2002 . I tried to create a fake directory fs2002 since it is only for FS9, then went back to the orientation manual and have not been able to find a solution. I'd really apreciate help since I'm flying for real on this beautiful machine..
best regards from french riviera in the meantime .

Hi JM,
Well, just like the first poster, download the latest version and be sure to read the instructions!
All should be well if you do :)

Hi JM,
There would seem to be an FS2002-related problem with the current download, as another user recently had exactly the same problem.
If you let me have your email and postal addresses, I can send you a CD with the original FS2002 Wrapper file, which will install as you want.
Cheers,
Alastair
