Hello Dreamfleet,

After several test I think that adding more stations point than the defaut 50 of Fs is probably the cause of all your problems.
(must load another aircraft first and various misterious CTD)

reproducing the bug: (100%)

1-start fs with another stock aircraft
2-Select either the 727-100 or 727-200 loaded full of passengers (mean >100 station in aircraft.cfg)
3-go to menu aircraft->fuel and payload->modify payload
4-change the weight of the pilot by 1 lbs or more.
5-click ok - Fs crash

I can even tell you where it crash: Fs module "Fsui.dll" the
function that recalculate the weight of the aircraft.

If I reduce the count of station below 50 in the aircraft.cfg
no more CTD.

I suggest in the payload editor adding one station per line of passengers instead of one per passengers.
this make 4 seat per station = 25 station.

I don't believe that adding one seat per station make any noticeable
difference in meaning of flight dynamic but I'm sure it cause problems.

Hope this will help ?

Yes, this is a known limitation of FS. The ATR suffers the same issue. The way around it - don't modify the payload through FS. That's why there is a separate payload option in config manager provided:)

Sure but this isn't the only case where the weight might be
recalculated (fuel comsumption?) - I'm almost certain that it can
cause also problems at various unpredictable point of the flight.

And as I said I don't believe that adding one seat per passengers
make ANY difference in flight dynamic - Fs even might group
them in 2-3 weight (even 1 just changing the CG?) ) point because
it will not take in account at each frame 140 weight points for the
flight dynamic, it would be too time consuming.

No avantage/heavy risk of "mysterious" problems... I would personnaly
avoid that for my add-on - but everyone is free :)

Well, I'm sure that the developers are looking into it and IF the issue can be resolved, I'm sure they will find a way:) In the meantime, you can get around it my just not changing payload from within FS.

It's no different with our ATR. The W&B on the 727, like the ATR goes past the abilities of the default FS W&B. You can NOT use FS to set W&B, that is why we have C-o-M to set W&B with.

Just use FS to set fuel.

Needless to say, with the 727 we programmed past default FS, and by a wide margin.

If you could use the default FS W&B to set this, then we would not have included in it C-o-M. ;-)

I have no doubt that you have done a wonderful job, the question is:
for the risk is there any benefit to have 140 station point instead of say 25 ?

I don't think anyone can't tell any difference on the flight dynamic
beetween 140 and say 25 points. (test might be blindly done to not have a "placebo" effect)

Anyway if someone have mysterious CTD it might be a good idea to ask
them if they have also problems with cargo version that use less
stations.

Cheers and still congrat for your wonderful job !
