Hello Dreamfleet,

First thanks you for this amazing product.

With the 727-100 loaded with 100 passengers you have
in the ../One 727-100/aircraft.cfg:

max_station_count=112

while there is 116 station (station.0,station.1 ,,, station.115)
result: CTD when you exit Fs in somes case.
(notice it might create another CTD in somes other computer or
situation as selecting the aircraft... Fs doesn't like at all that we exceed the max number of station count)

If I edit the aircraft.cfg and change to max_station_count=120
(it's a max not the exact number) no crash to desktop anymore.

Thanks for correcting that in the loader wich seem to make this error.
or give this issue to the programmer of the loader.

Thanks for that, though why nobody else has had a CTD is strange? At what point exactly do you get the CTD occur?

Personnaly When I exit Fs... I must tell that I'm a module programmer
myself so I know this case.

As Fs start to write in memory that is not reserved for that (only
112 station allocated while it load in fact 116) the result might be
unpredictable as crash at selection of aicraft, crash at Fs exit etc
etc even nothing...

You might clear several "misterious" problem while clearing this one.
I suggest always staying stationcount+5 for max station it doesn't
hurt and will preserve the memory in any case.

Thanks for help and thanks again for this product.

Hi Paul,

I don't know if this counts but all of a sudden I have had two CTD's using the same flight with the GPS doing the work. It occurs approx. at the halfway point in a 500 nm flight.

Everything is normal then fs9 is gone leaving AS2004 wx on the taskbar. I have a 3.0 AMD with i gig ram and a ati 9600 w/ creative soundblaster 5/1 surround sound.

The computor is running cool and I can't remember this happing since I added msfs patch. The only thing I was doing at the time was using the view selections and cross checking the panel.

Other then that it is a fine piece of work and I am enjoying it to the fullest.

Regards, Nick

What (if any) error message is there listed in your event viewer. It should list what's causing the CTD, either FS, a guauge file or even something else.

Todd are you speaking of the error window that would pop up because there was no error box it just went to a blank screen with fs9 gone.

No, I'm talking about the event viewer which logs most system and software errors. This feature is part of XP PRO, Home and 2000.

Todd, thank you for the help about the event viewer (learned something new thanks). All I can make of it is "the database engine stopped".

However I reinstalled directx and updated my soundcard drivers and repeated the same flight, it was a success with no interruptions, but if it happens again I'll know where to look.

Thank You,

Nick

Yeah, might have been just a fluke.

Computers... gotta love 'em! ;-)

Hi,
Looks like an amazing product, but unfortunately,i am unable to go further than page 3 on the cockpit preparation.
Crash to deskstop also.
I am now going to edit the aircraft cfg. file as mentioned above and report it to you.

I had a crash to desktop as well.

I was running just Flightsim, the only addon for the area of the tutorial flight is My World 2004 and it definately didn't cause it.

I was using the GPS to Navigate and it indeed happened about 1/2 way through the flight like a previous post mentioned.

The sim was running normally when all of a sudden it went black. The fan sounds could still be heard, then the usual "FS9 caused an error" thing came up. I was pissed off and clicked cancel error report without thinking of copying the error sorry.

My specs are ...

AMD 2600+, 1.25GB DDR 400mhz Ram, Radeon 9800 Pro, SB Audigy
Latest drivers for all installed

-Nothing is working,i used the 727-100 Passenger after editing the aircraft cfg.max station to 120 as stated above.
I thought this time i was on my way to finally take off as this time i went all through the checklist untill the after take -off.
During the trim set, i was back again to my dekstop.
So,i know you guys will provide a quick solution meanwhile i really but really have to do my dishes.

This is what happens when you start fiddling around with config files? Did you back up the original config file? If so, please replace the one you modified.

Now, Use config manager to adjust cargo load. When you get into FS and adjust fuel, are you also clicking the change payload (or whatever it is called) button next to it? If so, don't:) That's why there's a separate loadout utility provided.

I'm not saying that there isn't an issue here, but just as an example, I've been using the same files as you for quite some time during testing (and even after now) and never this issue has come up with many cargo flights and adjustments to the loadout. Adjusting the config files manually will quite possibly make things much worse.

Todd,thanks for your advise.
I just change the max-station number from 112 to 120 with the 727-200 F.
Now ,you are right ,i did change the fuel load in the aircraft interface without touching anything else.
I backed-up my files and re-installed it.
I 'll give another try

Nope,i re-tried and still crashing after 2 minutes.
I have used the 727-200 F (i have not touched anything in the aircratf cfg file).
Hope this will be solve fast.

I get the CTD about every third time. I get mine when FS is beginning to load the flight. Max station 120 fix didn't work. Error comes up as unknown in event viewer. Happens with all aircraft after using config utility. XP...Latest drivers...blah,blah.

I have no problems loading the aircraft or running it, my CTD happened about 45 minutes into the flight in cruise. I was using the GPS for navigation. I'm going to try a flight without using the GPS to see how it works. I normally don't use the GPS but since I have no charts for the tutorial flights I used it for that.

Once I get the flight to load, I have no other problems.I use GPS/Aux
Nav all the time with no issues. I flew 7-8 flights without touching
the config files & had no problems. It was after using the config utility I started having the crash.

I have unistalled,re-installed ,go to the configuration manager, select the 727-200 F with cold and dark cockpit.
Went thru the checklist untill after start then it crashes again!!!!
I then unistalled it unistalled fs9 delete everything i could before.
Re-install fs9,re-install 727 DF and it still crash again.
So,what can i do next,i wish i could take off at least once tonite.

Now my system totally locked up 5 minutes from landing after a 2 hour flight, grrr.. lol.

Anyways I haven't had these issues before so I'm inclined to believe it is the DF727.

David,
I did re-installed fs9 and the DF for the 2nd time tonite and finally made a short test flight.
I have use the flight 1 installer after making sure i have delete (and back up ai traffic)everything refer to fs9.
The result really worth it.

It appears my issues aren't the plane, sorry for the confusion. I had a crash in Battlefield 1942, so it's either my new ram or my new video card drivers.
