Is there some sort of through flight checklist? Or do 727 crews usually start the checklist all over again from cockpit prep?

What do you mean by a through checklist? The only checklists I know of are in the manual or accessible via the Kneeboard (F10 I think).

What he is referring to is what is called a "thru flight check list." That is, when the aircraft is landed and there is intent to fly once again not all of the check list is required. Normally the items required in the thru flight check are marked with an *

In British Airways we called that a "Turnround" checklist...I am just looking at my scan of the one for the Vanguard. It is on its own page and I see from the scan that that page is very discoloured and well used (barely legible in fact). It is a very good idea and it is just one page, instead of the previous five.
