Could any of you guys give me the low down on the correct procedure for setting up real time weather. I have tried several times and each time things did not go according to plan. I've checked out the MS FS2002 manual and it don't say much! ! (lol)

The way I set it up was:- Create flight plan from Madrid to Palma de Mallorca. Then go to Real Time Weather and download Global, then local for Madrid, then local for Palma De Mallorca. After listening to airport info I program FMC with flight plan and SID reletive to runway in use info and all seemed okay ATC had direct me to the correct runway reletive to the wind direction, and take off had a 10 degree crosswind as expected, no probs. The problems came when I got to Palma, ATC then directed me into an approach that was totally opposite to the direction I was expecting which ended up with a downwind landing at a wind speed of 25knots, thankfully Palma has a huge runway and with max flaps , speed brakes, reverse thrust, and max autobrake I pulled up short of the gravel trap.

Any help on this topic would be great.

FS_Meteo is the answer ... http://www.fsmeteo.com/ .. you cannot go wrong with this software ... get the gauge also ... fits very nicely into the 737 ..

If you are cable or DSL attached to the internet, every 6 minutes (or whatever interval you specify) it finds the weather and winds aloft for the airport closest to your location on the planet.

Try it for free and see what you think ...

I haven't used the built-in weather program in FS since about a week after FS2002 was released, but I don't think you need to download those local weather info. Instead, just get the global and it downloads ALL the weather for ALL the places, both your local and destination weather. At least that's how I understood it to work. Of course, I use FSMeteo, so I could be wrong.
