Archer Text-O-Matic Problem

Hi,

I hate to be the first one to bring up a problem with Archer TOM but this is driving me crazy!

First of all I have read the manual and I am already familiar with 737 TOM so I would like to believe that this is not a user error (although the possibility still remains).

My problem is that once I click on "Create Aircra in FS2002" my system immediately goes through a cold restart (as if it was power cycled)!! No windows error messages or anything. I have tried entering different values for the variation name or tail number to no avial. Once the TOM actually finished the process but inside FS2002 it overwrote the original Archers (all 4 of them). I reinstalled from my backup.

My PC is very stable and I generally don't see any application problems (including FS2002) for months. I am running Windows XP Home Edition, AMD Athlon XP 1500, 768M RAM, NVIDIA GeForce2 MX400.

BTW, the Archer installation went through without a problem. The Template file is copied to the proper directory. The Archer liveries were downloaded from http://www.tincan-drew.com/archer/.

Any ideas??

Hi Shahriar,

Make sure you enter a unique identifier as well besides the variation name and callsign.

As for the restart, you are the first to report this, and will need some looking into to try and replicate it.

Hi Elmar,

I did use a unique identifier but it wasn't helpful. I am going to uninstall Archer tonight and start from sratch again and see how it will go. Will let you know.

1. set Ref Airport on POS INIT page
2. set Origin and Dest on RTE page
3. set Dep and Arr at DEP/ARR page
4. set GW, RESERVES and CRZ ALT at PERF INIT page and EXEC that
5. set OAT temp at TAKEOFF REF page
6. select V1, VR and V2 at TAKEOFF REF page to transfer them to EADI
7. check, confirm, edit your waypoints at the LEGS page
8. go back to RTE and ACTIVATE and EXEC the route

Hi Elmar,

Re-installing Archer from scratch did the trick. No problems with TOM this time. That problem was a wiered one I have to admit. Now back to flying Archer..
