Problem with the FMC

Hiyas!

I've got the following problem: I'm trying to make a flight from LFPG to LFSB. I set up the FMC for the route adn everything is fine till I pass the point on the route where the FMC shows the beginning of descent. The aircraft just doesn't begin with descent... I think I'm doing something wrong but I don't know what. Do I have to set the altitude limit to the RX point? If I try to do this a retard sign shows up but nothing further happens...

Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

You need to decrease the MCP altitude before the T/D point if you want it to start its descent there. The FMC should give you the message RESET MCP ALTITUDE and a yellow FMC light should come on the main panel a few nm before the T/D point. You can dial in the lower MCP altitude well in advance of the T/D point if you wish.

If you wait too long past the T/D point, I don't remember what happens.
