View Full Version : OT- Kind of- Lennarts Textures

Hi all. Is anyone currently using any or all of Lennarts new Fs2002 textures while at the same time, using DF734?
I used to use them with FS2000, but found I had a big hit in framerates. How is the hit with FS2002 and DF734?
And, showing my ignorance of the new FS2002 scenery generator...., what effect will the textures have on the AutoGen?
My system specs:

What are you worryied about?
Lennart textures are simply a masterpiece of FREEWARE art and do not affect the frame rate at all. I am pretty sure those files have the same size as the default ones. Check them by yourself :-)

Whilst I cannot disagree at the utter quality of Lennart's work, have you tried these?:
These actually change the Autogen scenery too...!!!!
Used in Southern England and France they are nothing short of astonishing. Absolutely, unreservedly incredible - and I'm not one noted for offering undeserved praise...
NOTE: For non-French linguists, these textures are NOT compatible with Lennarts so you have to revert to standard textures using Lennarts cool utility, then copy the ORIGINAL texture folder, then replace the ORIGINAL textures with these. They are not yet four-season, but the FS2000 one's were developed over a period of time so a regular visit to the site should keep you abreast of developments.
Effect on frame rates? None I can determine.

Are there any sites containing screenshots with these textures? I've located the file, but want to have a look before I decide to download.
I've heard more enthousiastic remarks on these textures, are they really that great?

I must not understand how add-on textures work. I can't get either one of those texture sets to show up in the sim. It seems to just be reading the textures off of the CD no matter what I do...
