Hello,

I just got the Dreamfleet last week and really like it, except for the frame rates hit. I'm using the available tutorial for FMC, but I'm having a problem activating the flight plan. The tutorial flight plan activates like it says. When I import a plan from FSNavigator in FS2002, I can't get the activate prompt to appear on the right side LSK6. I'm pressing ROUTE from the pre-flight status portion on the Takeoff reference page. At that point, the Activate prompt is suppose to appear. It does not, what does appear is the PER INIT prompt. The execute button lights up. When I press it, the Route page changes to active like it's suppose to.

However, when I change the display to the map mode, there is no solid line showing my course. Also, the LNAV and VNAV won't engage because the plan is not active. On the FMC, it says it is active. I also tried entering a manual flight plan, but I still can't get that Activate prompt to come up. I've entered all the flight information the FMC requests. I believe I'm doing everything correctly, but after six tries, I'm giving up for the night. Is there something obvious that I'm missing or should I retrace my steps once again? Thank you for any help you can provide.

Sincerely,

Hans,

Make sure you're filling out the PERF INIT screen completely, in addition the the TAKEOFF REF page. When the TAKEOFF REF page says "pre-flight complete" you should be able to EXEC and have the flight plan displayed on the ND.

Everytime I've had this happen, I have missed something in my setup.

Cheers,

J

Hi there,

Jase is right, most of the times it's a miss somewhere in the pre-flight. Check my signature below for the proper steps :-)

Best regards, Elmar

[b]***The FMC Preflight's 8 steps***
1. set Ref Airport on POS INIT page
2. set Origin and Dest on RTE page
3. set Dep and Arr at DEP/ARR page
4. set GW, RESERVES and CRZ ALT at PERF INIT page and EXEC that
5. set OAT temp at TAKEOFF REF page
6. select V1, VR and V2 at TAKEOFF REF page to transfer them to EADI
7. check, confirm, edit your waypoints at the LEGS page
8. go back to RTE and ACTIVATE and EXEC the route

LAST EDITED ON Jan-06-02 AT 11:31AM (EDT)[p]I'll go back and retrace my steps. I got it to work a couple of times when I was left alone and paid more attention. I'll give it another shot. I did see the step I may have missed. Do I press the execute button every time it lights up?

Sincerely,

Hans

Elmar and J,

You guys were right, I missed a step. I did not execute after setting the GW and reserves at the Perf. Init. page. I tried it again it worked fine. Thanks for your help.
