I was just looking over the 737 quick start guide, and I saw no mention of whether or not a flight running on the FMC data could be saved successfully. In other words, can you successfully resume a saved flight in FS2002 when the flight was being guided by the FMC - i.e. LNAV and VNAV?

My first experiment proved negative... :-eek

Thanks,

It can be done. Pause, save in FS, and then in the FMC save data. Later to resume, select the saved FS flight, pause if not already paused, then load the FMC data. Finally, the most important part, make sure the MCP is the way you want. This is the part that doesn't necessarily get saved correctly. (I think it simply remembers the last settings.) You'll likely need to engage LNAV, VNAV, set MCP altitude, engage CMD, etc. Finally, unpause, and there may be some transient behavior, but it generally works okay.
