Could someone please tell me where dreamflight
classic 737-400 "Don't Think" wav file is located??
I have looked everywhere.
I need to delete it because everytime I pushback
with ProFlight2000 the Ctrl+P activates it and it
is becoming annoying. Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
John

It is located in the FS2002\Sounds\DreamFleet 737 folder. HOWEVER, YOU CANNOT DELETE IT! Deleting any sound used by the panel will cause an immediate crash upon launch.
Instead, you must replace it with a .wav file that simply contains so sound. Does not matter what the length of it is or anything like that, just a silent file will do the trick, and be sure it is named the same as our file. :-)
This is the name of the file you will be looking for:
DF734_GPWS_DONTSINK

I've often wondered what this wav is actually for.
"Whoop whoop pull up" makes sense to me.
"Don't think"? What's this warning for?

It's one of those X-Files type government conspiracies. Actually, I already told you too much so I'll stop now.

It's a lot like life and that's what's appealing (flight sim, that is)

It is DON'T SINK ... as Lou noted above and sometimes happens when your vertical speed (sink rate) is excessive for the stage of flight you are currently in ... like final approach, for example.
I used to hear "don't think" also and wondered
Kinda likr the Airbus "RETARD" callout when it is time to cut throttles ... soulds more like a grammar school playground. hehe

I was wondering what that was for. I kept answering "what do you want." :-lol

Actually, you get that warning when you get into a descent rate when you should be climbing, i.e. on takeoff or a go-around, if you descend before reaching a certain altitude (leaving the envelope for that part of the GPWS) you'll get the "Don't Sink." On an approach, after you enter that part of the GPWS envelope, you'll get "Sink Rate" rather than "Don't Sink."
I haven't heard it in the real 737, but in the C-130, it does sound like "Don't Think." If you are any good with sound utilities, you should be able to make a new file that says "don't sink" instead.

I have done that file replacement few days ago, just like Lou suggested with no sound file, my problem was that I had to listen to that sound always during landing replays.

I am running FS2000 and it is not in the
FS2000/Sound/Dreamfleet737/files.
All the other .wav files are there but not this one.
Any place else to look??

I have played every .wav file in the
Dreemfleet737 folder. It is not there.
I also tried looking in the Flight One
Aircraft 737 sound folder but these are just
engine sounds. I also tried looking at every
.wav file in the FS2000/Sound folder and I
cannot find the file name you gave me.
It's got to be there somewhere.
Still Looking,
John

I wish that I could send you my Dreamfleet737
Sound file page because it is NOT there.
My page also has less .wav files than the one
I see that you displayed.
I also am running FS2000........ NOT FS2002
I guess that I will keep searching.
It's got to be here somewhere.
Thanks,
John

Make sure you are looking in the right place, it's in
C:\FS2002\SOUND\Dreamfleet 737
and not in
C:\FS2002\aircraft\Flight One 737-400\Sound

Thanks but as I said I am NOT running
FS2002, I am running FS2000.
My path is: C/Program Files/Microsoft Games/
FS2000/Sound/Dreamfleet737
There is no DF734_GPWS_DONTSINK.wav file in there.
A lot of .wav files but not that one.
Thanks anyway, and still looking

John,
you need to have the latest update installed. In all previous versions of the 737, the "don't sink" warning was comiled into the DF734HO.gau file.
Best regards

You have mis-heard what the voice is saying.
It's connected to the 737-400's state-of-the-art pilot deodorant failure detection system. What it actually says is:
"Don't Stink!" ;-)
