Hello
I was landing theDF734 at the EDDW airport and engaged the APP switch and both autopilots(the frequencies wre tuned in)
and suddenly the app swich disengages and i couldnt engage it anymore. I had to land the aircraft manually.
And another problem,is that the AP cannot hold on the set altitude it just climbs aove the selected altitude and only, when it had overshot about 500 feet it starts to descend to the selected alt,but then it descends below the alt and so i keep going up and down.It makes it unflyable.
When installing the update i set the SOFT swich in aproaching altitude.
Im using FS 2002,P3 processor,ATI Card, 256mb ram.
Please Help!

LAST EDITED ON Dec-28-01 AT 01:32PM (EDT)[p]You said both NAV radios were tuned in, but did you switch the NAV radios to Manual?

Also, shortly after you press the APP button, the light will go out. Verify the status of the APP on the FMA. It should show VOR/LOC and G/S. Many people seem to get confused when that APP light goes out. They think it disengaged itself, but this is not the case. It's behavior is true to real-world 737 behavior.

As far as the overshoot, I would verify the SOFT Altitude Capture setting using the settings dialog in the FMC.

Yes they were set to manual
The app disengaged not far from the runway!
The SOFT is set but that doesnt help!
Any Ideas,that would help me?

Does the autoland function always disengage at all different runways? Possibly it's a bug in FS2002 at that particular runway. You know, the FS2002 localizer, G/S is very buggy.

I don't know about the up and down motion at cruise. Have you used the Load Manager recently? If so, maybe there was a problem and the weight and balance of the aircraft is out of wack.

If all else fails, try a complete reinstall. Many times doing a reinstall will fix annoying problems like these.
