Due to limitations within FS, and our need to incorporate both a "slaved" HSI and a traditional DG in the panel, in order to keep it authentic to the real Cessna 310 we modeled, it will be necessary to turn OFF "Gyro Drift". This will allow both the HSI and the DG to act as though they were slaved to a remote magentic compass system, with neither experiencing any form of drift.
Normally, with just a slaved HSI it would not be necessary to do this, but when both a slaved HSI and a DG are in the panel together, this setting change is necessary.
This setting can be found in the main FS menu, under Aircraft / Realism Settings.
BE SURE THAT THE BOX LABELED "Gyro drift" IS NOT CHECKED!

Failure to turn off Gyro Drift will cause a conflict between the DG and the HSI's heading bug, forcing drift onto the HSI's heading bug when none should be occurring.
