I have been using Airport in FS2000 and would like to continue in FS2002. I would appreciate someone giving me some help in installing AP so it is compatible with FS2002. Thanks alot. Jim

*** There's no difference in installations for either sim, except for setting the "Options" (menu item) for Apt files to appear in either FS2002 or FS2000. No need to re-install for each sim.

Thanks alot Jaybird. I was a little nervous about maybe having to reinstall FS or something by not knowing what I was doing.... Have you any words of wisdom regarding polygons having an effect on user api objects? At certain angles from spot view the objects will disappear and reappear when the angle is changed. Wierd. I can remove the polygon and all is well. Its a little limiting however. I'm doing something wrong, but I'm not sure what. Thanks again. I am really having fun.

*** Assuming you're using the latest build 143 of Apt AND have chosen a textured polygon in the create polygon window, AND have chosen a type other than the "None" choice, try entering the number 1 (one) in each of the "X" & "Y" boxes (double-click any numbers there and replace them with the mumber: one). Recompile and see if it changes your situation. If you had previously selected "None" for the polygon, try selecting one of the other types and using the "dummy" numbers: 1 in the X & Y boxes. If that fixes the problem, go back and enter zero instead of one and see if it remains OK.

There could be lots of reasons for a disappearing 3D object, ranging from low system resources to V2 set too low, to drawing order in a macro. Since you say this problem is "polygon dependent", that, in itself is something that probably should be fixed.

Please let us know how it works-out...

Thanks once more Jaybird. Using the "dummy" number 1 in the X Y boxes did the trick. I did not go back and try "0", every thing seems to be working very well. One more request. I am interested in uploading some scenery that I have developed and I don't know where to start. Are you aware of any tutorial or such that might get me started? Once again I appreciate your help. It is opening doors that I didn't know were there.

Regards, Jim

Jim: 'Glad you're starting to get those polygons "by the throat" :-)

Your best bet for an upload scenery tutorial is probably from the Flightsim.com Files Download section of the main menu. From there, grab the following 2 files:

"File Release Tips For Developers" and "Upload to our FTP Site".

You can use the View ==> Scenery Distribution Files List within airport to see what files you need to include. If you set up a program such as Winzip in the Directories options you can zip those files as well.

Sort of a rookie question but I get double winzips when I start the package for distribution. Takes a lot of work to fix it.
I might try stuffit instead.
