My fantasy island in fs200 works well and then I copied it over to fs2002, all is there except now when my plane comes off the runway to taxi it sinks. How can I prevent this happening? All land based scenery works with no problem.

Try putting a flatten area around the airport... All I can think of at the moment

Try inserting a runway........yes, a runway!! to cover the area where you wish to taxi and then assign the runway an "invisible" texture (that is an available choice in the list). This will "harden" the area of interest by simulating a runway; however, due to the texture you've selected, it will not show in FS.

Thanks Barney. I tried that and it worked just right. I wonder why there isn't just a polygon that's 'invisible' and does the same thing? Anyway all's working now. Great. Thanks.

Barney, that's a real interesting idea. Does this work with trying to create roads too? If so, how could you do it? It's a pain to always have to add a "flatten" polygon area around miles and miles of roads.

First of all, the idea of the "invisible runway" isn't mine....I got it from reading a message from another simmer in another forum.

Anyway, to answer your question, I haven't tried it, but I suppose it would work. The length of proposed road might make it a bit difficult......in the case of a particularly long one, you might want to break it up into more than one *.apt / *.bgl file.
