View Full Version : Problem with Taxiway Textures
Hallo,
I have tried to create a new set of Taxiway texture in day and night version.
However, when I place the plane on the taxiway, first the taxiway is green but when the plane starts rolling the texture will apear.
But then the texture is comletly washed away about 100 metres in front of the plane. Is there anything I can do about this?
What is the option transparent and Opaque for when I choose the texture for polygones? I have tried both but get the same results.
Thanks in advance for your help.
LAST EDITED ON Nov-14-01 AT 03:53AM (EDT)[p]Hallo Gerd,
so trifft man sich wieder.
Please have a look to your plane from outside. If the wheels are inside the runway, then there is missing the area16n. That means, the taxiway is not inside a runway-area.
regards Peter
Hallo Peter,
no, that is not the problem. Even if I don't understand what you mean. Wheels are not in the Runway and not in the taxiway.
I have posted two pix that show the problem under:
http://flightsimmers.net/airport/atlantis/taxi1.jpg und
http://flightsimmers.net/airport/atlantis/taxi2.jpg
The clear line is still from the airport centerline function. But the texture is not clear.

what happens, if you change this texture? Or You make a normal BMP file. If You like, send me the texture for test.
Peter
I have posted the bmp in a zip file under
http://flightsimmers.net/airport/atlantis/Taxi.zip
i have tried already all possible sizes of the texture (including non square) and also set it to different resolutions in airport with the same result.
I used BMP2000 to make it an extended Bitmap!

Turn off "mip mapping" in your flightsim display options. This causes textures to blurr as distance increases. If you don't like the sharper look to all your terrain and aircraft textures (some do, some don't)then the only other answer would be to try and increase the texture size.

No, that can't be the problem. I have already tried every possible size of texture from 64X64 up to 256 X 256 and the result is exactly the same. I could still try 512X512 but I don't think it will make a big different. How do other scenery designers make there own taxies? I have flown many different sceneries with nice taxies and the mid mapping turned on and the texture shows clear. Maybe the Abacus Scenery Designer don't have this problem?
