Hi. I have just downloaded 2.60 for use with FS 2000.
I used your example TestIsle file. and most things are OK except when i use it with FS2000 I can see runways buildings etc but no island. There is sea everywhere. When landing on the runway I get a SPLASH !

What am I doing wrong ?

Tks

The Airport tutorial that you used is really excellent for creating an FS98 and earlier version FS scenery but there are changes you have to make for creating scenery for FS2000.

Your problem of not seeing the island sounds like you've probably used a synthetic tile for the ground polygon from within the Sections/General menu and this will work great for FS98 but the FS2000 scenery engine does not recognize synthetic tiles so that option should not be used in FS2000.

I would suggest that you go into the Section/General menu and shut off the synthetic tile option, and do not place a check mark in the Europe X scenery box. After doing this just go the working screen and right click and select to add a regular polygon and spread it over the entire scenery area then it should show up nicely.

Your problem of splashing crash is caused because the ocean surface in not a hardened landable surface and to fix that you'll need to add either a Scenery.cfg "Flatten Switch" or you can use the new "Flatten Polygon" from within the Airport menu. Doing this will harden the surface nicely for ya.

I've created several tutorials for using the Airport program along with FS2000 and you might want to check them out. Especially, the one called "Creating an FS2000 Scenery". It's a step by step process which covers the basics of FS2000 scenery design using Airport program.
