Hi Folks,

I have a dilemna. My desk at home is angled, so I have a tough time flying at an angle. I can put it straight, but I still have to use sticky tac on the bottom of the yoke to keep it on. The edge of the desk makes it slide.

I have the following:
(And yes, I know that somewhere down the road, I will have to add more. It's addicting right?)

CH Pro Rudder pedals
CH Pro FlightSim Yoke

I just want to design using the following.

1)Rudder pedal Box, no bottom, or maybe a bottom for weight.
2) 2 x 4 brace attaches to box flat on ground.
3) 2 x 4 angled column attaches to brace
4) 1" Particle Board or plywood attaches to 2 x 4
5) Yoke attaches to board.

I am attaching a pic of my current setup as well as my cheesy design.

Unless you can lead me down a different more simple design, this should work. Any Help is appreciated, as I would like to ask the experts before I run to Home Depot.

My main concern is this:

Do I need to weigh down the pedal box in case I pull on the Yoke and the box comes up too. For example, will the weight of my feet on the pedals and a velcro strap or piece of wood at the back of the pedals be enough counter weight to suppress my pulling on the yoke.

Please keep in mind that I only put about 60 minutes into this measely design so I am open to suggestions.

Thanks,
Joe

It sounds and looks good, but you have to make sure that the column for the yoke is strong. you don't want the thing wobbling around. The main problem is that FS just takes up a lot of space. When adding more it becomes almost impossible to use it as a personal computer. If you really want to expand more you'll have to get a sepparate computer (and perhaps room) for just FS.

Thanks Guys. I went with a Two Column 2x4 Support for the yoke. Works Great.

A GIIA in case you are wondering is a Guy/Girl involved in Aviation. Just list how you are involved, and you can use the designation. It's that simple.

Me, I am a PP-ASEL and an AOPA member, and now I am a GIIA. :-)

There is a parts page to get your wagon fixed, if you need to.

NO MORE SIG, as it had nothing to do with MSFS2002. It was a FLYII Sig.
