It was a little while ago that after years of being "too busy", I decided to get back into flight simming. Hence my first post here.
I dusted off my ol’ Thrustmaster WCS (throttle) and Mark II joystick. I purchased one of those Game Port to USB adapters only discover that both the HAT switch and the throttle wouldn’t work simultaneously. On top of that I couldn’t find the dos programming utility to program the throttle buttons on the damned WCS!!!!
Under penalty of prosecution, I cracked open the USB adapter and took a look inside. Did a little research and decided to make my own.
So far I’ve built a 4-axis 24 button with HAT switch USB adapter and a 6-axis 16 button USB adapter for a homemade multi lever throttle I‘m currently working on, for the big birds.
Not to complicate matters I decided not to create a programmable USB device, but instead use software emulation to read all joystick buttons and send keyboard key strokes. It runs in the background (like a TSR in the old days) and works great so far in Win 2K but having trouble with it in Win 98. Haven’t tried it in XP yet.
Here is the link to my homepage if you want to download some of this stuff.
