Hi,

i wold like to connect some LED to toggle switches - for example when i turn on A/P ( with toggle switch in my panel ) the green LED is on. Simple - isn't it ? But -> can i connect LEDs to ground and +5 V from pin 1 ? how many LEDs can be connetced to gameport to avoid any damage to computer ?

Hi Ericson

Yes you can connect LEDS to switches via pin 1 and ground providing you use a current limiting resistor of about 110 ohms for a green LED, before the LED itself. You could always use LEDS that have an inbuilt resistor but they cost more money. As to how many LEDS I can't really say, my little book Easy PC Interfacing says "the gameport can supply +5 volts at current of no more than a few hundred milli-amps".

If you go to the FAQ section under the main menu and look for an article by Roland Van Roy on making your own flight Yoke, you will find lots of useful stuff in it.

Any chance you can go to USB? With USB hubs you can plug a hub into another for unlimited usb devices. If you buy powered hubs you can use as many as you want without damage or overloading your PC.
