Hey
This is my school project for my final year:
A control system for a 737 in FS2k2.
Now, ive got it all made (the yoke bit anyway)
Two 1 meg pots, one for x and one for y. Followed the tutorials and so on all fine and dandy.
Cept now.
It works. Sometimes. After I disconnect it I think, im not really sure what does it, but it suddenly decides that when you have the wheel level, thats equivelent to having the wheel upside down.
Level out the wheel and WHOOHOOO BABY!! AEROBATICS!

Needless to say, I'm VERY annoyed, because I've got little undestanding of what is actually happening. (I understand computes yeh :D )
Why does it suddenly re-orientate itself? The pot isnt moving. A semi trailer cant move it the way its locked down.
Re-calibrating doesnt do anything either. Sometimes makes it worse.

Sorry for the garbed post, but im really annoyed and angry and frustrated. 22:10, what can you expect of a 17 year old? :D

Dear Frustrated 17 yr old

Those pots seem a mite big. Commercial j/sticks have pots in the region of 180K, thats what I have used in my yoke/joke (thats in case Rob B reads this)and rudder pedals. This is also the size that I have seen most people report as using in their Rudder/ Yokes. As to the erratic behaviour I can only assume that its those pots giving out spurious readings or maybe you have an intermittant short possibly on the gameport connection. One loose strand of wire is enough to cause you grief.

Hope that of some use to you, if not I'm sure other will offer the correct solution.

Bill
