View Full Version : WideView Problem

On another forum it was suggested that I try WideView. I have done so in the past and was not enamored with the results. Case in point. This has happened to me on two different computers. One was an IBM PIII 1GHz the other, this evening, a HP 4150 Notebook running around 350 MHz.

I set the client to run the main instrument panel and the larger screened server to run the scenery. Only some of the gauges will work. Most notably the airspeed indicator and DG/HIS don’t work. If I open the GPS on the client screen it won’t track the aircraft. This has happened on different type of aircraft, both MS and third party.
Tonight is was the beautifully well-done FSD T38. The fuel flow gauges worked but the RPM, AS, AOA and HSI didn’t.

I have checked all of the obvious settings on both the server and client units. They agree. The server is controlling the client. It just won’t run some of the instruments.

Anyone have any suggestions?

John

I had the same problem until I read the WideView instructions. Only the Server will run the gauges. I switched the instrument panel to the Server and scenery to the Client and all was good. There is a lesson here (at least for me).

"Well shoot!" The server is faster and has a 19" monitor, while the client is a notebook without 3D acelleration.

Drats! Thanks for the info. I guess I could have gone back and read the instructions. What is it they say, "When all else fails RTFB."

:D
