U can use you monitor as a projection display, what u need is a PC monitor, a magnifying glass, a mirror, some plywood, and a flat surface.
The monitor required is FLAT type PC monitor so the will be no distortion on the edges of the picture, the size 14-20 inches dia, and turn the monitor upside-down.
The magnifying glass could be fressnell type (smooth side facing the monitor) or a big magnifying glass or plastic (the bigger the better)
a mirror to flip the picture back, because the picture will be flipped left & right. so add mirror at 45 degrees and bounce the picture to left/right side..
Build a box and a simple sliding lens focusing.. paint them black inside. Once the picture focus - srew them tight..
a flat surface about 100inches dia or so.. painted with SILVER paint.. trust me: this give the best result.
if you want to place the monitor above the screen height (e.g. above cockpit) this is how :
Let the monitor facing forward (0 degrees angle up/down) to the mirror (this mirror at 45 degrees left/right to bounce and flip the picture left/right) and make the lens tilt down facing to the screen (the screen is 0 degress up/down) and you get a perfect picture without distortion.
If you confused then ask.. :) or email me..
